When I was in second grade, I wrote my first story. It was a one-page story about the Statute of Liberty made up from information cobbled together from the World Book Encyclopedia. I was so proud.
Since then, I've continued to write. I've kept many journals. Several of them are filled with teen drama and angst written poetry. I thought I was quite the poet in high school and college.
Along with writing, I grew up reading everything in sight. I would frequently hide out in my room, nestled up with a good book. I am no stranger to staying up late to finish just one more chapter.
Reading and writing allowed me to go to places I've never been and to meet new people. I've learned so many interesting things.
I grew up in Southern California and attended the University of California at Santa Barbara. After college, I still didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up. But I knew that I liked reading, researching, and writing so I attended law school at Suffolk University in Boston, MA. After law school I lived in Washington D.C. for a few years before moving to my current home in Seattle, WA in 2011.
Since living in Seattle I have started to showcase my writing and currently write for the Junior League of Seattle blog and the blog for the Washington State Bar Association, NWSidebar. I'm currently Chair of the Junior League Annual Publications Committee, overseeing the printing and publishing of our directory, newsletter, and magazine.
